NOTES

Sages are the “bridge” between Hyrule and the Sacred Realm. They guard the Master Swords power and protect Hyrule. Each one relates to an element. Light (Hylian, Rauru), Forrest (Kokiri, Saria), Fire (Goron, Darunia), Water (Zora, Ruto), Shadow (Sheikah, Impa), Spirit (Gerudo, Nabooru), and Time (Hylian, Zelda, Leader of the Sages).

End of OOT, adult time line:

The sages seal Ganon in to the Sacred Realm turned Evil Realm.

Zelda uses her power as a sage to send Link back in time to his childhood.

Without a Hero/Link in the adult time line, the Triforce of Courage splits in to eight pieces.

Presumably, the royal family hides these pieces around Hyrule, marking where they are on maps.

The Master Sword was placed back in the pedestal of time within the Temple of Time (which is also the entrance to the sacred realm), sealing the gates to the Sacred-Realm-Turned-Evil-Realm.

After OOT:

Hyrule Castle is rebuilt near the center of Hyrule on an island in the center of Lake Hylia.

It was decided that two new sages should be appointed, the Sages of the Master Sword, to continually pray for the Master Sword to safeguard the power to repel evil that dwells within the enchanted blade.

Two new temples, the Earth and Wind temples, were built for the two new sages, Lauto and Fado.

After a time, for unknown reasons (Temple of Time collapsing?), the Master Sword and Pedestal of Time were moved to a special chamber in Hyrule Castle.

Return of Ganon:

Many years after OOT, the seal of the Seven Sages weakens, possibly due to the Master Sword and Pedestal of Time having been moved from the Temple of Time, and Ganondorf escapes from the Sacred Realm Turned Evil Realm.

Ganondorf, using the power of the Triforce of Power, creates two monsters, Jalhalla for the Earth Temple, and Molgera for the Wind Temple, and order them to dispose of the Sages of the Master Sword.

Without the Master Sword, Ganondorf was free to continue ravaging Hyrule.

The King of Hyrule tried to stop Ganondorf but was not powerful enough.

The people prayed for the return of the Hero of Time but he did not appear.

Without a Hero, the people turned to the Goddesses to save them.

The Goddesses created a great storm with the intention of flooding Hyrule.

[Here is where the game takes place. Hyrule has been ruled by Ganondorf for years, and he has brought upon the world technology in the form of steampunk using the power of the triforce.]

[The goddesses did answer their prayers, but for some reason the sages decided to protect Hyrule from the flood (Ganondorf's influence? Perhaps Ganondorf forces all the sages to combine their power to hold back the floods)]

[With the constant rain in Hyrule, a historian incorrectly believes he has figured out a way to stop the rains. If one is to collect the Spiritual Stones, then one can become a hero, hold the Triforce, and wish the rains away.]

[Our protagonist goes through three temples (not actually Temples, but merely the remains of the Kokiri Forrest, the Zora's Domain, and Death Mountain) to locate the Kokiri Emerald, the Goron Ruby, and the Zora's Sapphire, and takes them all. Each time he removes one of these relics from the land, it begins to rain harder and harder.]

[This inventor then determines the original location of the Temple of Time. You visit the ruins with the stones and are warped to the Sacred Realm turned Evil Realm.]

[Optional: If we wish for there to be a fake chick Link, we should introduce her here. She meets you at the temple ruins, and you fight. However, before the fight concludes, you are warped to the Sacred Realm.]

[You are met by Farore. She speaks of how Hyrule is without a hero, and in their attempts to save Hyrule from Ganondorf, the sages powers were used against their wills to stop the flood waters.]

[Farore also speaks of you. You are not a hero. This timeline is without a hero. You removed the relics that were protecting three of the races of Hyrule. The Great Deku Tree has protected the Kokiri from the flood waters, and the Zoras can swim, but without the Goron Ruby the Gorons have perished in the flood waters.]

[You are tasked by Farore to save the sages, convince people to flee to the mountains, and save Hyrule in the absence of a true hero.]

[Optional: Once you are warped out of the Sacred Realm, you are brought out mid-fight between fake link and Ganondorf. Fake Link is getting the shit beat out of her for sport. You pop in, and Ganondorf throws fake link away like she is nothing. He picks you up, thanks you for your assistance in the further destruction of Hyrule, and throws you away also.]

The Goddesses set a magical seal over the Master Sword and Pedestal of Time that would keep the land of Hyrule and everyone in it frozen in time. It also served to limit Ganondorf's power, as long as the Master Sword was not pulled from the Pedestal of Time.

Ganondorf was frozen in time below the ocean, along with the King of Hyrule.
